Protect the grill with the Winter Cover or Summer Cover, depending on the conditions and how you use your grill. Alternatively, move the grill under a porch, loggia or other suitable roof after grilling.
Winter Cover
The Winter Cover provides full weather protection when your Caveman Grill remains outdoors. It is made from heavy-duty 680 g PVC material, is flame retardant and 100% waterproof.
Place the cover over the complete grill with the open side facing the handwheel. Never cover the grill while it is still hot. As a practical rule, wait until the fire is completely out and the grill has cooled sufficiently. When you can comfortably place your hand on the rim of the firepit, the Winter Cover can be fitted.
The Winter Cover is the best option when the grill is fully exposed to rain, snow and other weather conditions throughout the year.
Summer Cover
The stainless-steel Summer Cover is designed to protect the grill grid and the inside of the firepit from most rain and moisture during the warmer months.
Before installing it, disconnect the chains from the grill grid and wind them around the axis using the handwheel. The Summer Cover can then be positioned between the frame, directly above the grill grid. Its shape allows it to fit correctly in one position.
The Summer Cover is not 100% waterproof, but its design prevents approximately 95% of rainwater from entering the firepit. It is intended as a protective cover only and must never be used as a lid while grilling or while the fire is still burning.
Keeping Your Grill Under a Porch or Loggia
If you can move your Caveman Grill under a porch, loggia, shed or another suitable roof after use, a cover may not be necessary.
The important requirement is that the firepit remains completely protected from rain, snow, hail and other direct contact with water. If the grill is moved while the fire is still burning or the firepit is still hot, always make sure there is plenty of safe clearance between the fire and the roof or surrounding structure.
Once properly sheltered and kept dry, your Caveman Grill can remain outside throughout the year without needing an additional cover.
