Review by Caveman Grill fan from the 1st hour
From searing ribeye steaks to caramelizing vegetables, the Caveman Grill Home does it all. The real open fire and flame action improves the taste of practically any food with that unmistakable smoky edge.
I’ve been using the Caveman Grill Home for several years now. At home, during garden diners in family setting, and for bigger home parties. As a grill aficionado and food fanatic in general, I wanted to see if it truly delivers on its promises of flame, flavor, and build quality.
The first thing you notice is the weight: at around 125 kg, made from high-grade stainless steel and Corten steel, it feels substantial. The firebrick inlay ensures excellent heat retention and even radiation. Every moving part, from the height-adjustable grate to the solid frame, is solid and pure functional. Made in the Netherlands, the craftsmanship is clearly top-notch.
Performance & Usability
The Caveman heats up fast with reaching a usable temperature in about 15 minutes. Following the fire & flame with your eyes and feeling the temperature with your bare hands, adds character and control to this grill. Adjusting the grate height lets you switch easily from seriously searing steaks to gently grilling vegetables. The open wood fire brings not only flavor but also lots of pleasure and atmosphere.
The grilling surface is generous enough. Whether it is grilling the entire dinner for six, or treating our friends from the neighborhood on the perfectly grilled côte de boeuf. The heavy-duty wheels make it easy to move, though once it’s in place, it tends to stay there.
verdict
The Caveman Grill impresses not only as a premium wood-fire grill, but also as a true eye-catcher that enriches my garden. For me as a passionate home cook who loves being outdoors, this isn’t just a tool. It’s an experience. Solid, flexible and easy to use, and built to last. It stands among the best in its class. Just make sure you’re in good company, you have access to local dry wood, and the right ingredients. The rest will take care of itself.
